Hosting – When you, the game moderator, register your game, we create a unique implementation of our game code. You will be able to find your game from anywhere, by typing in your unique URL (ex. http://[your school initials].hvzsource.com). Games come with the standard “Goucher-style” ruleset displayed on their Rules page by default. If you supply us with your edited version of the rules (html formatting appreciated) we will have it display whatever you need.
Player Registration – When you chose to open registration, players will be able to register on the Player List and receive their Identification Number. They will also chose if they want to be eligible to become the Original Zombie.
possible bug – people registering fake accounts
Player list – Once players have registered they appear in the player list along with their name, picture, and team affiliation (along with kills and starve timer, if they’re a zombie).

Identification Numbers – Every player has an ID – Six alphanumerical digits (ex. RW2H5O). Each human player carries their number in their pocket on an index card (you need to make sure your players do this). When they are tagged, they give the zombie who tagged them this card. This allows the website to track which human the zombie has tagged.
Automated Kill Logging – When a zombie tags a human, they take their victim’s Identification Number. The zombie clicks on “report kill” and enters this number, as well as two fellow zombies that they would like to feed.
Feeding a zombie resets their starve timer to the time that the kill was made.
Administrative Tools – After you sign up for your game, we will contact you with a secret admin registration password. With this, your moderating team is able to create their admin accounts. The administration section is broken down into three main sections: game flow, edit players, and mailing list.
The game flow page breaks down the game into 7 phases. You can advance your game from one phase to another by checking the box and clicking submit. Once you advance, there is no going back (easily, that is – send us an email if it’s absolutely necessary. We will try and revert your game to a previous state, but the software is not set up to handle it).

Warning – Game flow cannot be reversed
Open Registration – This phase allows players to begin registering.
Close Registration – This phase stops registration. The game is on hold and has not yet started.
Adding players to the player list after advancing to this phase requires access to the database. We can give you access to your school’s database on our server, and teach you how to add a player, but we strongly recommend (for both of our sakes) making sure that all players have registered before advancing to this phase
Pick Original Zombie – At this phase an admin must select the Original Zombie from a list of players who chose “I want to be the Original Zombie” when they registered.

When the OZ is selected, the new player “Original Zombie” is added to the player list. The OZ’s starve timer and kills are listed under this player. The player chosen by the admins remains listed as a human on the Player List.

Start Game – After advancing to this stage, the OZ’s starve timer begins to tick down and players may begin reporting kills. The game has officially started!
Reveal Original Zombie – The “Original Zombie” player account (that was created by the software to log kills), and the actual Original Zombie player (the one listed as a human), are turned into one listing on the Player List. The player is listed as a zombie next to his starve time and kill count – everyone visiting the list will know who the OZ is.
Game Over – The game is over. Thank you for playing!
Using the mailing list page you can easily generate email lists for either team or all players.
Lastly you have the edit players page. Here you can change players password, name, status, starve time, and picture.
